- Program: Science to Script
2018 - 2021 Co-founded, established, and implemented Science to Script, a program that promotes STEM in pop culture through storytelling and mass media content creation. Programming includes writer in residencies, events (virtual and in-person) and media. Mission: Science to Script aims to spark accurate, diverse, and positive portraits of science and scientists within mass media entertainment. 2022 - Present Designed and proposed a business model (&Then Stories) and product prototypes. The product prototypes were based on merging learning design with current cognitive science and instructional design practices. &Then Stories focuses on the creation of children’s literature and related activities that introduce non-western family/ancestral honor norms, specifically multigenerational kinship support and ancestral responsibilities. The goal: building a children’s literature collection that depicts how ancestral connection and family honor can shape life’s directions and responsibilities, while navigating and thriving, in two or more different cultures within one’s environment. Scope: 7-8 year-old Learners, Adult Caretakers, 3rd Culture Kids, Family/Ancestral Honor Contexts Mission: &Then Stories will support increased culturally responsive socio-emotional competencies and feelings of belonging for learners from multigenerational households and family honor contexts. The children’s literature content will be trifold and scaled to include: Informal Learning Fanfiction: retell existing children's book narratives through family/ancestral honor norms Activities and Discussion Prompts: bite-sized reading resources for adults and children to spark intergenerational, multigenerational and peer conversations about identity, values, and culture A Children’s Book Series: create original content that focuses on multigenerational kinships support, ancestral responsibilities and empowerment Skills: Design built learner/target audience profiles produced children's literature - creative writing prototyped instructional design of related activities and discussion prompts assessed learning challenges and developmental opportunities within target audience demographics incorporated cognitive science and curriculum best practices into design: teaching for understanding, project-based learning, conceptual change, analogy and transfer Leadership & Management created strategic go-to-market strategy that leverages partnerships with publishers that share similar visions and missions drafted formative evaluation plan Intended Outcome: foster critical and reflective thinking skills within target audience increase social and emotional competencies, and belonging within target audience age group increase representation of 3rd culture kids and family/ancestral honor contexts within the children's book industry Prototype Samples:

2020-2021 Conducted interviews and surveyed current and past board members to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and next directions. Scope: Non-Profits, Adult Learning, Board of Directors Audience Skills: Design in collaboration with consulting partner and client, established study scope and strategy produced relevant survey and evaluation templates through an iterative improvement process Interviewed relevant leadership and stakeholders during design and study processes organized and analyzed data to produce key-takeaways content produced graphics and data visualization aids Leadership & Management presented to staff, board leadership and various stakeholders Outcomes: key-takeaways were utilized by the Nature Conservancy to support annual strategies survey and evaluation templates incorporated as models for bi-annual data collection and board of directors check-in a board of directors' retreat was scheduled to further assess data and jump-start community building recommendations outlined within report
- Podcast - Science to Script
2021-2022 Co-developed and piloted podcast series featuring the intersection of science and media. The first podcast featured FootPrint Coalition. The FootPrint Coalition, founded by Robert Downey, Jr. and works at "the intersection of capital venture and nonprofits to: produce entertaining and informative content about technologies to restore the planet publish and share across channels to engage a global audience create partnerships mobilize coalition to invest, donate, share, and take action" The second podcast featured Ecoflix. Ecoflix is the first not-for-profit media group dedicated to saving animals and the planet. Scope: Online Learning, Adult Learning, Science Industry, Media Industry, Researchers, Non-traditional Funding Communications Skills: Design co-created podcast structure and scripted sections Leadership & Management served as a co-host for each podcast Outcome: expanded adult learning within science in entertainment initiatives in the State of Wisconsin connected University of Wisconsin System researchers, stakeholders and learners to new organizations and resources Media Samples:
- Project: Scaling AR in Museum Settings
2021 Drafted a multi-year museum strategy to implement digital solutions and XR. The strategy proposes expanding museum reach outdoors to every 'main street' through geolocation and phone platforms that utilize image recognition to share fun facts and activities (MVP). The MVP would then scale each year. Scope: Museums, Science Communication, Arts and Entertainment, Adult Learning, Upskilling, Strategic Planning, National and State-Wide Reach Skills: Design compiled and analyzed primary and secondary research within industry market and user base to scaffold learning experience design interviewed museum and XR professionals incorporated DEIB into scaffolded design frameworks Leadership & Management conducted budget analysis and modeled a 3-year fiscal plan built implementation strategy conducted risk assessment and produced related strategies presented to museum leadership initially interviewed for study Intended Outcome: expand museums' reach and access through technology challenge and expand the idea of where museum resources are located within community
